The short version
A church that got it the other way around
Most religions are a long list of things you must not do. We are the other way around.
We are strict about almost nothing.
The sins are three: waste, hoarding, and cruelty. To these the church adds one standing decree - suffer not the mould. Fascism is the mould upon the crust, and where we find it we cut it out. That is the whole of our sternness.
We are relaxed about everything else.
Who you love. What you drink. Whether you came on Sunday, or came at all. What you wore. Whether you swore on the way in. Your body is not a sin; it is where the pizza goes. There is no dress code, and barely a code. Come as you are; leave fuller.
What we ask instead.
Feed people. Share the last slice. Tip the rider who carried supper through the rain. Stand between the mould and the weak. Rest when you are tired; the dough rises without you watching. That is the faith. The rest is seasoning.
